Course Overview

This module prepares school leaders to navigate digital transformation and innovation while strengthening core operational leadership capacities. Participants will explore the strategic use of technology and AI for teaching, learning, and school administration, with a strong emphasis on ethical data use, privacy, and digital equity. the first two days will focus on practical skills in financial management, human resource leadership, and parent school relations, enabling leaders to align innovation with effective, sustainable school operation.

The third and fourth days will focus on empowering school owners, principals, and senior administrators to strategically lead AI integration. Grounded in rigorous academic research, this component bridges the gap between theoretical governance and practical implementation.

Participants will explore the financial realities of AI adoption, pedagogical shifts, and data privacy mandates before transitioning into hands-on application. Using the Google Workspace ecosystem, leaders will master structured prompt engineering frameworks, RACE, CARE, and CREATE to streamline administrative workflows, enhance strategic communication, and drive evidence-based decision-making.

The module equips leadership teams to build a sustainable, human-centered AI culture that prioritizes student well-being, mitigates algorithmic bias, and supports academic integrity.

Learning Outcomes:

Day 1: Finance for Non-Financial Managers

• Understand key cost & revenue drivers in schools
• Prepare a basic school budget using bottom-up approach
• Differentiate between OPEX vs CAPEX and compensation vs non-compensation
• Apply internal controls and compliance principles
• Maintain basic financial records and understand audit readiness

Day 2: HR & Operations Management Learning Objectives

• Understand the challenges of day-to-day school operations and how to design more effective systems
• Develop a basic understanding of HR functions, including hiring, performance evaluation, and staff coaching and development
• Strengthen communication for success, with a focus on feedback delivery and managing difficult conversation

Day 3: AI-Empowered School Leadership: A Strategic Approach to AI Implementation and Proactive Governance.

• Analyze financial and strategic impacts, and evaluate the cost of AI integration, including infrastructure, licensing, and hidden operational costs, to optimize institutional resource allocation.
• Design leadership strategies that leverage AI to enhance teacher self-efficacy and reduce workload while mitigating student "cognitive offloading" and preserving critical thinking.
• Establish robust governance through the creation of a proactive "Policy Before Platform" governance structure utilizing the SAFE framework (Safety, Accountability, Fairness, and Efficacy).

Day 4: Powering the Institution: Productivity Enhancement and Post-Training Success

• Understand and practice applying the RACE, CARE, and CREATE prompt frameworks to generate highly specific, context-aware administrative outputs.
• Leverage Google's Gemini within Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides to automate tasks, generate presentations, and conduct natural-language data analysis for evidence-based decision making.
• Sustain long-term integration by developing a sustainable, post-training capacity-building roadmap prioritizing cross-functional AI Readiness Teams and continuous professional development.
• The limitations of the current iterations of Generative AI technologies, it's pitfalls, and risks from overdependence.

Important Details

Pre-requisites:

• Technical Access: An active Google Workspace for Education account or personal Google account, with Gemini enabled (Google offers AI Plus and AI Pro service at low-cost price points in Pakistan), and a laptop to participate in hands-on prompt engineering labs.
• Prior Knowledge: A baseline understanding of current institutional strategic plans, digital tools currently deployed within the school, and existing school acceptable use and data privacy policies.
• Experience: Executive, administrative, or senior coordination experience within a K-12 setting.
