Course Overview

In this certificate program, school leaders will embark on a transformative journey of self-awareness, recognizing their central role in delivering quality education to students. Through engagement with relevant theories and frameworks and enriching discussions and activities, participants will develop a deeper understanding of what quality education means within their own contexts. With a comprehensive grasp of the complexities of school leadership, the program equips leaders with the skills to design actionable plans for planning, implementing, and evaluating school improvement, ensuring a sustained impact on educational excellence within their institutions. Day 1: Exploring Foundations of Educational Leadership

  • Examine reflective models that foster self-awareness.
  • Describe key concepts and theoretical foundations of educational leadership.
  • Analyze ways leadership can be practiced collaboratively rather than through hierarchical structures.

Day 2: Analysing School Effectiveness Approaches

  • Apply key frameworks to assess and improve school effectiveness.
  • Evaluate factors that contribute to effective schools across diverse contexts.
  • Examine the role of leadership and organizational culture in sustaining school effectiveness.

Day 3: Implementing Research and Evidence-Informed Practice

  • Explore research approaches and methodologies relevant to educational leadership.
  • Use data and evidence to inform decision-making and guide school improvement efforts

Day 4: Building Capacity through School Cultures

  • Examine research and practices related to teacher leadership to help develop leadership pipelines through mentoring and professional induction.
  • Evaluate strategies for capacity building and explore succession planning approaches that support sustained institutional leadership.
  • Apply strategies that foster collaborative, trusting, and professional relationships through distributed leadership.

Day 5: Presentations and Way Forward

  • Please note that the online training sessions will be conducted synchronously via Zoom.
  • Participants are requested to ensure that Zoom is installed on both their laptop and mobile device, and that their Zoom account is set up prior to the first session.
  • On the day of the training, participants are advised to log in to the session by 11:00 AM (Pakistan Standard Time).
  • The Zoom link will be shared via email one week prior to the commencement of the training.
